You Can Start by Joining the Publication

The model for upward mobility has always been to climb an invisible ladder with the hope of one day reaching a desired height. What is rarely ever mentioned is that, for each rung of the ladder, you essentially have to step on more than a handful of necks.

I would say that Medium is no exception to this rule.

Medium isn’t just a platform for bushy-eyed, writing souls looking to dip their feet into the shallow end of the writer’s pool. Medium is also home to the competitive writer — the kind of writer that could care less about engagement if it involves mingling with adversaries.

Then there are those like me, who fall comfortably in the middle.

Quite frankly, I don’t give-a-damn enough about the concepts of hierarchy to be fully partial to any type of writer, but —

I always did have an insatiable hunger for going against the grain, and I would love nothing more than to rebel against the notion of unequal give and take.

Here’s where Sahil Patel’s amazing publication, Reciprocal, comes in.
